Summer 2020 Piano Solo

Description:
In Movement I, all songs in this depict the changes and moods in nature from dark, violent storms to flowers in full bloom in Spring with a segment that I wrote entitled 'Melodia della Regina' last year.
In Movement 2, (Toccatina) begins large in character with a brilliant work by Ogilvy written for the artist to play showing the power of the syncopated, rhythmic work.
Then we wind down with the with smoky harmonies to create mellow moods to finish off the evening with (Seventh Street Blues).

Special Thanks:

Dr. Alan Yamamoto, Conductor, Department Head, Professor, for instilling intention in my style, and teaching me to sing tenor in Hebrew with the men for our performance.
Dr. Roxanne Watson, professor & department head, for admitting me to your class exempting prerequisites, I appreciate the honor ! And for reminding me to play “painfully slow” in order to know a piece.
David C. King, Geophysicist/RF Engineer, loving husband, and trumpeter, for helping me to “hear” while arranging.

" I took piano lessons for a short time as a child around age 9 and learned to read music some, but mainly I enjoyed playing by ear and spending endless time on arpeggios
In 2019 I returned to music, studying in the performance arts program in Charlotte NC
"I play on an antique Baby Grande....its resonance is healing and shows its age beautifully."

Had the honor to collaborate my Holiday Duet project with Charlotte Opera Lead, Jacob Daniel Wade

Thank you for listening

New Project
I am currently working on a duet to be performed with cousin Cellist Sharon Wellington. We will perform Elegy, Op.24 by Faure’ who was called ‘The Aristocrats of Cellists’ because of his elegant musicianship and majestic sound. Notably, Faure‘ was played at the Royal Wedding in 2018….each piece is beautiful and moving. Performance details will be announced once finalized. Coming soon !
